Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Isn't it more or less the same everywhere?

What frustrates me the most is that skills, competencies and education are not only becoming less important here, but have become almost completely irrelevant, because the most important thing for managers is that someone constantly feeds their ego. But hasn’t management become more or less like that in every bank now?

This is more a corporate America thing than a bank thing. There really has not been a good map in actual individual contributor performance mapped to comp
