Financial Results Out of Date

Anyone else notice how stuffy and out of date the Q1 financial results looked? Between all the suits and ties and comments about being in person, yikes. Brian’s answer on hiring youth and meeting their needs sounded like Trump, where he said we already have young people who want to work here. By saying that he deflected from answering the true question which had to do with the expectations that younger generations have for the workplace like working remotely, work life balance, etc. etc. etc.

@1tcr+1gjcCoUk, most of these people post to new jobs when they are getting close to being found out. HR never questions why certain people move so frequently to many different lobs. It's sad these are the people who continuously prosper off their incompetence.

What jumped out at me was when he said we need more immigrants added to the workforce.

I remember a town hall where one of the top leaders did a Charlie Chan dance. Or our middle manager on a video conference who wore a business suit and tie, then stood on his chair at the end of the meeting to show us he was wearing shorts. Or when a senior leader told us about the importance of bathroom exclusivity for certain high school students. True leaders. Good times.

Entitlement has no age to it. I’ve seen young kids and older people come thru and they STILL are shocked at the thought of doing their job. It starts with the hiring process and not hiring based on skill set. When they are hired, the hiring manager realizes they weren’t a good fit. Managers don’t want to manage out, they wait until they can move the under producing associate to someone else’s problem. And they keep getting moved. Fast forward years and the under performers are still here. And good luck to the manager that tries to manage them out. They make a call to HR that they are being targeted. It’s a lose lose situation.

Their iPhones*
Their apple watches*

Seems the issue might be bigger than Gen Z.

This f-khing new generation of young talent are lazy and want to do the least amount of work for the maximum amount of pay. When you train these nitwits most of them are preoccupied with there iphones or looking at there apple watches. Many of them are unreliable and will start calling out as soon as they start getting sick days available. There are so many employers who can't find reliable employees .

He asked about retention and attracting younger talent, BM defended with attrition numbers and new interns avoiding any talk of a flexible Gen Z friendly workplace

That kid is probably on his way out or at least now heavily considering it after the cop out answer Brian gave. Kudos to him!
