Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

People are getting used to RTO

The bank won. It might have taken longer than they expected but people are returning to the office and few are still complaining about it. Even fewer still are staying home in defiance. I was hoping this wouldn't happen and people would stay determined and strong but it is what it is.

You’re going to have a portion of people that are loyalist. They’re the ones that kisses the managers and leaders a-s. Next time you’re on a call with a senior leader notice who agrees with the bull sh-t talk and the ones on camera cheering on the bu-----t talk. The majority of people are not getting use to anything. Some are posting and waiting for the right opportunity. Some are needing a bit of a push to start. Some are waiting for a layoff/severance. Bottom line most are leaving and will continue to leave.

I went once. The day I was told would be my first day and it solidified my decision to look for something remote. Found many opportunities including other banks that are offering fully remote roles and got one with a higher base salary, about 15% increase, plus a much higher yearly bonus. All in all, I’m up in salary, work remote, and BoFA can now kiss my behind.

Godspeed to those that don’t want to go back and are forced to do so.

I have heard in gwim only 30% of eligible (not including 30% who were unvaccinated who worked from home) workers were coming in 3 days a week or more...people are getting use to coming in a few times a month...I don't know anyone coming in 5 days a week...

I think it’s because bofa employees have less confidence and feel less valued so they won’t stand up for themselves.

Bofa pays low wages -> hires people who will accept these low wages -> these people have less qualifications/ less fancy degrees from ivy leagues-> they know they work at a low quality establishment-> they have less confidence and have been tricked into believing they won’t find anything better.

A union would be the great equalizer but people don’t want to rock the boat so will accept anything.

It’s heavily based on management. My boss is obsessed with being in office (even though his boss isn’t) and will pester us about it if we don’t go in. I go in 2-3 days a week but refuse to spend money uptown and refuse to work 8-5 in office. I also refuse to go to any employee engagement activities. Other teammates who aren’t in Charlotte are not going in hardly at all, some none and some just 1 day. I still complain about being in office and I’m actively looking for a remote job. Some other teams’ managers never come in office or just came once so those teams under them are also wfh still.
