Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I'm completely uninterested in our revenue and profit numbers

Let's be realistic here. None of us are going to see any good from it even if the numbers are stellar. The ones who'll benefit are Stankey and shareholders. If it's a loss, it will also change nothing, considering that we have cuts all the time. It'll be just more of the same. Basically, it makes no difference one way or another for us simple peons how well the company did. We're screwed no matter what.

OP, assuming you are management, I bet you were interested in the company numbers when you received 143% of your bonus for 2021.

Well, high profits have always resulted in higher executive bonuses and never into better pay for the rank-and-file, so why on earth would it do that now?

Work hard, but never expect any sort of acknowledgment and absolutely no significant raise. That's just for the C-suite

Are you really uninterested in revenues and profits? Or is it just too complex for your simple mind to understand?

Several analyst have lowered revenue expectations and profit for this year and next. They have lowered the rating of T. (S)tank(ey) will use this as his reason to cut back further and will further tank the company. You can't succeed by cutting expenses only with no plan to increase revenue- Stankey didn't learn anything in Executive Business Programs. He's a flunky through and through

Our prices are too high and our services are poor. Customers are leaving in droves.

T is in trouble, currently losing about 10% of their revenue on an annual basis. Guess where T will be in 10 years, no longer solvent. Nobody can do anything to stop the hemmoraging.

At this point all of the net income is due to a huge amount of depreciation. It's an accounting trick. EBITDA continues to fall. The good customers went to competitors.

Anyone who thinks we are on some wonderful path to success needs to check their naivety. You’re the third horse In a three horse race. Add to that the debt, the lack of investor interest and no real vision sets it up for little growth. Not to mention your horse I first and second place are far ahead and are competing for the same business. If that great love letter wasn’t enough, there is technology constantly being developed to provide more efficiency to our space to further reduce our revenue. And trust me, the c suite is aware of these things but because we have such children in the workforce we have to paint everything with a rainbow brush and put unicorns on it.

What a narrow minded comment. 401k is affected by it for one thing. To the Bankruptcy advocate in here, do you even finance bro? We have a lot of money coming in, it may not be well used but we are no way near that.

You should care. The next step is a strategic bankruptcy to relieve us of the pension obligation. Then we can be new and stronger.

Same technique we used to save the automobile industry.

Me too.
Don't care.
Nothing I can do about anything.
I can control my paycheck. And do.
Corporate can kiss the west end of an east bound horse.
Just be sure it's in the bank this Friday.

The last ten years are proof the only beneficiaries of good and bad performance are the c suite. It’s because the board approves their take from the company. Everybody else’s comp and benies are based on he modeling.
Until this all changes corporations are in for an interesting next ten years. Without a pension there is nothing keeping employees from moving from job to job.

Stankey is basically unaccountable. $100 billion of market value has evaporated during the Stephenson/Stankey leadership and both have profited very handsomely by driving the company into the ground with over $100 billion in debt!!!
