Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why So Many Anonymous Posts Here?

Here is a question for employees who post here: Why post here on thelayoff.com rather than voice your concerns at work?

Are you concerned that there will be negative backlash against you?

Is the response different based on what leader you have?

It is better for me, but maybe just my team.

It’s literally an annomous board OP. I’ve only ever seen joke names posted as the author of anything here. If people had to post their real names we wouldn’t get the tidbits and details going on. No one is willing to get fired to help others with information that’s not yet “public”. There’s a lot of nonsense posts but many nuggets of truth that get shared as well. Not sure why you can’t appreciate that? Just don’t read this board..

Conor & Billy D have encouraged me to post a few times here and have subsequently been very supportive of both my career path and my compensation package.

Thanks guys!

The op must think hr is their friend. They learn that hr is not your friend they are just looking out for the company , not employees

I learned the hard way that there are certain things that can’t be openly said. I was warned by my co-workers although they thanked me for bringing up the issue. Never trust corporations to do the right thing. You are just labeled as a “disgruntled employee” and dealt with accordingly.

@1hzy+1gk6o8gL one of my co-workers was critical of one of the articles. Mind you, the article had dozens of pages of comments, and most of them were negative. He received a call from his manager to take it down.

@mcm+1gk6o8gL I agree with you that there's a lot of complaining about RTO when people could change their situation. But that's it. If you've been at WF for 30 years (not a company WF purchased) it's apparent you have not expectations at all. I'm sure during the scandal you told yourself that's what all banks do. I'm sure when we were foreclosing on servicemembers while they were deployed, you felt it was only right. I mean, who are they to expect WF to follow the law? I imagine you are probably in the same role, or a similar level role with similar pay as when you started at WF. I mean, you have no expectations, right?

OP,
Backlash is real at WF. It can be subtle or overt. Happened to me and also had it happen to other teammates. Some of them had to move on to escape the repercussions.
Suggest you stop wearing the rose covered glasses because it is not that rosey.

I only came here after they shut down the ability to post comments to teamwork's articles.

Those were NOT anonymous. But those became a feeding frenzy for people who wanted to shut down the voices of others, and eventually the whole thing was shut down.

There's no other choice out there for "the real scoop" on what's going on, other than this site.

BTW, I do agree with some of the other posts. Backlash and retaliation are real. But it's worse than that. Even people who want to be positive and who express fresh ideas are hammered down. You quickly learn to just keep your head down and be quiet and collect a paycheck.

It is against policy to post about WF on social media. You will be fired if they don’t like what you said.

What an entitled post. How fortunate you are to “it is better for me, but maybe just my team” why don’t you take that snooty entitlement and shove it where the Sun don’t shine. The rest of us employees know what it’s like to try to speak out and get reprimanded for it and for our concerns to fall on arrogant deaf ears. Oh you think HR protects employees? Silly person. HR protects the company not the employees. Hasn’t any of the lawsuits and consent orders taught you anything? No? Well poor you in your perfect bubble you work in. Give me a fu**ing break.

All Wells Fargo people enjoy politically cr-p talks and bu-----t all the times. Dare you speak your heart out. Wells Fargo elites, kings and queens and masters dont care how you feel they will fire ruin you. Toxic positivity is very real in Wells Fargo.

Apparently never displaced and had to start over due to offshoring or mergers? In 30 years that is a whole lot of luck or entitlement. I’m 35 plus years, and it’s happened to me 3 times. But, jobs were plentiful in my area and I was willing to shift to something new and work my way back up in salary. I understand business, and I’m no millennial. but giving good people thier walking papers has never been a fun part of my job and it especially won’t be fun for those in non-hubs.

LOL A top employee on my team expressed concerns about lack of training and the new manager assigned to us immediately had it out for them and went to HR, called her “insubordinate and disrespectful” until she finally quit. Her legitimate concern about the lack of training was enough to trigger this manager to look at getting her fired. Let that sink in. Also-
the account sales scandals, if memory serves, when employees tried to speak up they were fired. Not every group can speak up or voice concerns in this company because retaliation is still very real here.

OP. This Board has become impossible to be associated with. I made this decision a few months ago but decided to check in today and saw your post. Nothing changed - a bunch of entitled cry-babies who feel that management here owes them something. They keep forgetting this is a profit center, and a large one. For obvious reasons, the RTO topic has dominated this Board recently. If not for RTO, they would have something else to complain about - this is the millennials, you just can't please them. I assure you the vast majority of employees, who are NOT represented on this Board, are perfectly happy at Wells Fargo. I am one of them - almost thirty years with the company, after several mergers. It is all about setting the expectations - if you expect impossible, you will be severely disappointed. I can't wait to be called Charile or HR - I assure you, I am neither. If you work hard, you get promoted and compensated, no matter what race, s-x or religion you are. Good luck to all of you and keep your chin up.

It's almost like you don't understand the purpose of an anonymous message board. Did you tell anyone in the office today that you were on here anonymously asking a d-mb question?

OP: Why are you shown as "Anonymous"? Go ahead and be brave! Post your name! The reason you don't is because you are apprehensive of repercussions like many of us. What a HYPOCRITE!
