Why does it matter to you?
What an employee gets depends on their level and how early they joined... just like any startup.
One thing's for certain: they've been working hard on brand new technology for the past 5 years.
What have you done with your time?
Stock for most except for founders, VCs and others owning preferred shares (vs common stock). Pensando management might throw in a reasonably nice cash bonus as a token of appreciation though.
Are the employees given AMD stocks in exchange or cash?
With AMD's stock trajectory, the answer is less and less.

Still, it is good to know rather what it matters.
Doesn't matter, you weren't part of Pensando so what difference does it make? One million, two millions, five millions, same outcome for you: zilch.
