Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Question for those over 50

How many of you are looking for a new job and how many have been receiving offers? Also, are you getting proper offers that are worth considering, or are you being lowballed when it comes to pay? I know the job market is hot right now but is it hot for everybody?

It's actually a relief to get out. At Honeywell I experienced some incredible ageism, serious violations of basic law, but kept my cool and left. Did I report it to HR ? Oh he-l yes, they ignored it. Now I have a better paying more diverse position where age is a non issue.

At 60 yo, I landed a great new job with minimal effort. Really loving being at a smaller company that appreciates its employees!

It’s pretty sad what has happened to HI. But life goes on. And it is better

Age doesnt matter over "diversity" status.
Honeywell has specific goals that force illegal consideration of race, s-x, and religous background during hiring. They do this systematically at all levels of HR prior to managers. All other major companies are doing the same despite gross misalignment with skilled worker populations and local diversity mix.

Being an expert in a field that didn't exist 20 years ago helps.

Older female here. Recommend botox, fillers, and taping back of neck to draw up "cords" on Zoom interviews. Um, really.

Sad that this was necessary but it did work for me. Also, provide no more than 15 years worth of experience on your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Disingenuous tactics may be warranted against unfair biases.

I left Honeywell last year at age 57. I was lowballed by Honeywell when I was hired and lowballed by Honeywell again each year thereafter on my merit increases. I was probably lowballed by my new employer also. That said, my new Employers lowball was 20% more than Honeywell's lowball, so I jumped ship.

I have been looking. The reality is that I am less valuable outside Honeywell. I blame Honeywell’s ridiculous past behavior blocking people from tuition assistance which road locked my masters. ( you had to maintain block 2 to keep tuition repayment… block 5 cancelled your agreement. ).
That is another story.
I have received an offer from every interview, Raytheon, Lockheed, blue origin, and a few more less notable names. They have all been about 30k below my target compensation so I did not move. I continue to be in contact with them and the right job will show up. Meanwhile I am heading back to school to bolster my skill set. Age 55

Age discrimination is a REAL thing. HW perfected it in the 90's until they got caught. Hired a better law firm and now have the process nailed down. If your over 50 and looking for a job helpful hints:
1- Use the word BRO every other word
2- Get lots of tatoos
3- Throw in Woke when you can
4- Call the interviewers dude
5- get Mohawk
