Several senior management retire announcements. Was it forced or sign of times

Does anyone know of these retirements are the calm before the storm? Were they forced out? Or both ?!?

That is the sign that recession is coming. It will have domino effect and more lower level will be pushed out. Market is saturated already.

Too much overhead and Chow was focused on her own show of diversity and not company profit so she needed to go. Mair had been here a while but plenty of younger more innovative types can do a better job. You don't need Legg and Mair just as you don't need Arroyo and Chow

Chow was a nuisance who accomplished nothing anyway

Why would anyone think they got pushed out? Can someone speak directly to the circumstances....knowledge of conversations?

Word is they're getting ready to do some much needed trimming of some of the already too many management levels

Get rid of a few layers of "he/she reports to who, who reports to who" So to speak.

These mass announcements of upper level people "retiring" is the companies way of letting them go out on their own terms with some level of pride or decency or whatever you wish to call it

It’s all forced at that level. Execs at T don’t work that hard. Very difficult to make their pay to work ratio at any other company. No one just leaves. Outside of Dan Schulman there hasn’t been one successful att alum at the senior ranks. Let’s not confuse position with success. Chow got pushed out. She’ll land somewhere but will never have the budget she had to play dress up and go on another self promoting book tour.

Almost always a sign of negative things to come. They are direct reports to McFresh.
