Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoffs today in Home Lending Operations

received email to join a call with Mike V- it was a recorded audio message advising of displacement- very sterile, lacking empathy. severance package will be emailed to personal inbox versus work. 15+years devoted to bank, truly disgusted.

I have news for @1shj

During 45, Legal was asked if there were any prohibitions on moving ANY job, ANY where offshore, for ANY reason and there were virtually NONE. Not even scores of taxes and fines could put a dent in the savings. Additionally, offshoring increased while he was in office per Bloomberg and a number of analysts. It’s just the way it is right now and I think it’s leading to all the fraud we are seeing like the spoofing, Zelle scams. These scammers have our info and know how the banks work and sometimes they have proprietary information we wouldn’t have thought anyone but an insider would know.

Loyalty gets you nowhere there and neither does being a really good performer even if you've been there awhile. Tenure is a liability regardless of strong performance. It's the most JACKED The F UP Company I ever worked at. I'm so glad to be out of that place.

LOL - so the maybe you were let go message came from a BOT?
Let's automate everything.....so inhumane
Disgusting when you consider we are a "Customer Service" oriented.
Curious, does anyone know if offshoring monetary transactions compromise regulatory compliance?
Something to consider - President 45 incorporated high fees/taxes on offshoring jobs....sure wish he was here....

I have no information to add, I just want to say 'best of luck' to everyone that's been impacted by this.

Multiple people I know in refi don’t even understand if they were or were not laid off. Something to the effect of this was said “Others across home lending in UW, closing, processing, and more are not moving forward with WF. Questions cannot be answered today as further communication is still to come surrounding those impacted.” That was basically it. Heard from one UW where everyone on their team minus 1 person was let go. This is crazy and they don’t seem like they are communicating this clearly.

Was told this afternoon that select Agency processors, underwriters, and managers were laid off. Last day for them is May 12th. Didn't hear anything about government teams (FHA, VA)

I’ve heard of managers and processors being laid off yesterday and today. It looks like the selection is random as to not cause any discrimination-based retaliation. I am in a different HL operations area and have seen our volume decrease significantly over the past month.

At this point I’m just wondering when they will move our whole team to India to cut costs. It seems like more and more of our workflow operations are being shifted over there, so it’s only a matter of time.

People that got laid off on my team weren’t weak performing so this is all wild. Is there going to be another one?

They said the layoffs effected primarily the refinance teams

I was not laid off, but team members of mine were. I was in a call confirming announcement coming later today with those who were impacted. Pipelines are extremely low right now. I will say the people on my team let go were the bottom performers.

I'm guessing a lot of home lending operations across any banks are being affected by lack of homes for sale and lack of refinancing due to rising rates. writings been on the wall for a while now.
