I'm just keeping my head down and NOT going into the office. I live 40+ miles away, and don't want an "exception". I want a severance.

A lot of people I see coming in just camp out in the focus rooms all day. Why?

I call BS. You are going you are trying to get others not to go and see what happens. If you did stop going your usual lack of production was not even noticed. What may have been missed is hindrance to actual work being performed asking questions all day about stuff that has been reviewed several times and posted if you bothered saving the link.

I’m hearing of people getting exceptions and being permitted to work remote full time. I wonder when lawsuits start bubbling up for disparate treatment?

unless they can't live without you ( hint... they can ) you'll be fired at some point.

I wouldn't describe the office as "misery", it's just incredibly distracting, has uncozy chairs/desks, small monitors, and is a huge waste of resources for anyone that has no manager/peers/reports there.

I haven't gone in either. I am not going in where there is an outbreak with COVID.

Only good things! Reduced stress, lower blood pressure, eating healthier food, peace and quiet, increased productivity, and I could go on and on. Nothing good happens in the office. It is just pure misery.
