Pay In Lieu of Vacation - Retirement

Can someone answer how pay in lieu of vacation work. What is the process for requesting, how does it get processed and when is it paid out?

No issue for me. I gave 2 weeks notice before retiring, check came within a month. Also pension rollover (for lump sum) comes in the form of an actual check to your mailbox!

A few weeks to a month after you leave you will get a check for unused vacation

Depends on the Group/Division Admin - that's the technically responsible party.
Of course, not many around anymore and probably alot to do.

And, in reality, company has no pay-out obligation by law, ethics or good business practice. Bye bye.

I didn't have any issue getting paid for vacation when I retired.
No phone calls were necessary.

It took me 6 weeks and 3 phone calls to payroll to finally get P-I-L. I recommend calling payroll every week to make sure it gets processed. By the 3rd call it had to be expedited. It should only take a month after retiring. On Thursdays twice a month you can't even get through to them on the phone because they are doing other payroll. Not the brightest folks! Good Luck!
