Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

There are no growth opportunities at Wells Fargo and you are being warned

If you’re an employee with tenure and highly skilled, get out.
If you’re considering applying for a job here, don’t bother. This place is toxic. Retribution is very real still.
If you think you will agree to move to a hub to keep a job with Wells, don’t bother. The hiring managers don’t want to deal with an employee needing to move for a promotion. They’ll choose someone less qualified who’s already in a hub.
Wells is firing highly skilled top talent with tenure and if that isn’t a red flag to get out and avoid this place at all costs idk what is.
Wells also keeps lazy entitled employees so don’t be surprised the bank continues to flaunt its incompetence and lack of empathy.
You’ve been warned. (Employees already know all this so listen to them, pay attention to the Glassdoor 1 star reviews, etc.)
Wells Fargo still isn’t listening to employees or managers or even the few good leaders who want to drive positive changes, efficiency and impact. In the end, everyone loses here.
It’s time to go.

@1krp

The concept of 'white privilege' is to prejudge based on skin color, which is racism. Scape-goating an entire group of people like you are doing is the reason why bigotry is still around and I'm sure against your company's ethics code.

A lot of us have busted our a**es here and gotten promotions only to now be told we are in workforce share doing a temp role and will be laid off this year. You got lucky and good for you but this is not the case for the majority.

Speak for yourself. I've busted my a-s here for 10+ years and increased my roles/comp 500%.

@ajw+1gna3NK7 Everyone wants to think they are top talent and only 5-10% is considered as such by others. Hard to stomach yes, true, also yes.

Every human being that is alive is privileged. The funny thing is, only certain ones are shamed and supposed to feel guilt for it.

@1krp, OMG, stop! Do you even hear yourself?? White males are just that - white males. What they are NOT is automatically super-qualified, talented or competent. What they ARE is generally privileged without having the slightest clue. Some of the most incompetent, unprofessional, non-contributing, worthless colleagues I’ve known have been white males. On the flip side, yes, I have also known a few talented rockstars who were white males too. Did they still benefit from being born on 3rd base? Yeah, probably.

Source: I’m a white female, well aware of my white privilege, but also have had the displeasure of experiencing workplace sexism and se-ual harassment. I’m also a manager and can count three problem employees I’ve managed, all three male and two white.

If you are a white male you are topped out, all others can be promoted.

Topped out? Really. Maybe instead of it being topped out Wells is too busy promoting buddies still and doing nothing to nurture top talent. Because that still happens.

I’m in my 4th role in 8 years and have more than doubled my salary. There are plenty of opportunities. Sounds like you topped out, it happens to everyone at some point if you stay at one company.

That's a tad drastic. Plenty of people here are making moves upwards. You may just be in a bad situation.
