Seeing a lot of negative posts about the beaumont chem plant. I’m considering a position there, is it really that bad? How does it compare to the refinery? How does it compare to Baytown? I’ve heard Baytown is really bad with backstabbers. Please be honest about beaumont as I have other options and don’t want to regret my decision to work there or not.

@OP, curious, what was your decision?
I’ve asked to leave Beaumont after being forced to a shift position 2 years ago…and now suddenly I’m an “underperformer” for doing my base job without step ours so not a chance in he-l
All of bmt is backstabbing. Beaumont has horrible culture...no room for improvement unless you're a good old boy.
Chem plant management is awful they claim they are family friendly but they really aren't. They are the type of management (down to supervisors) who will act like your friend but come pip time they will rank you in the gutter with no prior indication. At least the refinery people don't wear a mask so much and you know what you get
I worked at both the refinery and chem plant in Beaumont. I’d say Beaumont chem plant has a better culture. No matter where you go at Exxon you need to be prepared to do a lot of overtime and sell your soul to the company to rank well and get good raises/promotions.
Do not go to either the BM, BR or BT.. they are all run by backstabbing hicks
Management has ruined this place. I have seen the negative post also and can honestly say their spot on. If you have a family don't come here. This management and the past ones as far as that goes doesn't care if you live out here. They have the power to change that but never do.
