With Catalyst layoffs are inevitable.

The Dark Knight has left but the jovial crusader is expanding his reach. The laughter is just a cover for big change.

Wroclaw is taking on a lot of roles, but the place is a mess. India is a misogynistic mess but HQ ignores it.

To get ahead just keep drinking the Koolaid, the overlords in New York are laughing away in the Hamptons

@8rtq, because there have been plenty of layoffs and only clueless people deny it. Well except for about 9 months in 2020. Our headcount doesn't go down much because they hire a couple people in india to replace each fired person.

Nada, zilch, none. The only coworkers who will be devastated are the vast majority who are hoping for it. The bank will disappoint again.

Why are people downvoting posts about scant layoffs? I get the fact that the work environment is a hellish experience for all of us. But a layoff can ruin your career and it’s 50/50 that you’re better off or or worse off afterwards. I see the 3 years of greatly decreased layoffs post Charlie as a wonderful opportunity to conduct a selective job search.

We have no staff so who are they going to lay off. Many open reqs so if anything they’ll take those first unless you’re a cr---y performer

There will always be some low level of Layoffs but it’s important to keep perspective. They are barely happening and have been virtually insignificant since Charlie’s departure. I’m the Todd era it’s honestly pretty much performance and forced rankings. Nobody who is engaged is really afraid of a layoff and many, if not most of us are hoping for it.

This is true. The attrition of the great resignation really has effectively eliminated any need for large displacements and that era is over. Any displacements now really are performance based although the bank takes the high road by not terminating with cause. Our challenges are now key SME retention, and hiring with applicant asking price.

Unfortunately we are making the wrong choice here with Operations replacement hiring in India. It works for tech, but not at all for Ops.

No, attrition seems to be working out very well. People are self selecting to leave and we are actually hiring. Total layoffs in the past 3 years doesn’t come close any of Charlie’s quarterly layoffs. Those getting the surprise layoffs are generally for performance and they’ve been nice about giving them the package. That’s been a nice gesture.

No significant layoffs for 3 years. Only a few which really should have been with cause but the bank was gracious with them.

@1smx, there are no layoffs, only mass firings.

The layoffs will continue to happen. I would expect more firings too, they cost the company less money.

There was an old post pinning 4/25 as the day, but like most things, take with a grain of salt. But several rumors have ended up true here in some way. Oh well, can’t live in fear if there will be layoffs or not. Build your skills, strengthen your connections, but don’t do any OT if you don’t have to.
