I am kind of bashful, so not planning to tell anyone here how many RSU (really stinky underwear) I got.

To be fair I had seen people from RG10 moved to VG in the new system on the first year it took effect. Haven’t heard of RG10 to higher than VG though. Most of the RG10 to VG moves were overdue from in my opinion

You keep the RSUs you have, just no new ones

When you say RSUs disappear, do you mean that they take the unvested RSUs away? Ir just that you won’t get anymore RSUs?

Yep, when you drop from O or E to VG, the RSUs disappear. Like others mentioned, not as attractive as a cash bonus, but they are a nice perk and help people feel valued. When they disappear as your CL plateaus and your ranking suffers because of retirements and attrition, it’s pretty demoralizing. And managers don’t even discuss the change with the employee. For those not on an executive trajectory, be prepared to feel like a doormat in your late career.

I know if a bunch of people that dropped from the top to bottom ranks last year in this "new" system. Never thought I'd miss the old ranking system but at least under that one it usually took a couple cycles for them to drop you down.

I guess I wouldn't mind if they also moved people up with similar pace, but a low rank seems as sticky as ever.

Got 300 at cl28 for outstanding. Following year dropped to NI. You do the math 😁

I'll also be gone well before they vest.

Giving stocks to all employees depending on their CL and ranking would be a good way to reduce the terrible work atmosphere at the company and slow down the rate of resignations. Those in the outstanding group would receive more than those in the middle group. But, if everybody gets something they will feel better and not think about leaving the company so much.

160 shares are about $13,000 or $1,000 a month on top of your salary. If you are a high performer and get them every year, that is certainly nothing to frown upon…..

160 as a 26-27 and have to be assessed in the outstanding category. 80 vest at 3 years and other 80 vest at 7 years.

Unless you are executive the RSUs are nothing more than a token gesture, you have to be ranked high to get them, then wait 3 and 7 years and of course pay tax on them. They do not compare to other companies paying cash bonuses every year, to be honest they are not worth the effort that goes in to get them.

Apparently get 80 at cl 26

Have to be O or above to get it at 26-27, E or above or 28+ CLs

For the amount you get, vesting period is way too long to be worth anything. One might get piped before any of them mature.

For 2021 I was awarded zero rsus after my rank dropped from O to VG. I still get a handful from those years I was ranked higher. It's not much and I doubt I'll get them again. Downside of being technical at EM these days.
