Work Location

Does anyone know if there is monitoring on which site you’re going in to, or is it just that you’re swiping into a site? If there is monitoring on where you’re swiping in, is that based on your location in Workday? Thanks in advance!

I'm looking forward to being told -> in writing <- that I must go to the office.

I'm 6 hours away from the nearest office. One member of my team was reclassified as Remote, but myself and one other have not been. To answer the obvious question, we do not check as many of the same checkboxes as the other employee if you know what I mean.

So far we're only being told by voice to keep working remote. They're not putting anything in writing.

I can only comment on my own situation. My manager and their manager have both taken the position that badging in at any WF location ticks the box.

I'm currently bouncing between two locations, both of which are equally quiet I might add. I counted, and I was one of 8 people on a floor that holds almost 100 today. Yes, you read that correctly.

my Sr management has said that at this point they are just concerned with actually being in a wf location, which location doesn't matter yet, but that doesn't mean it won't in the future. I'm just going to take a wait and see approach at this point for my team.

It will be interesting once someone posts about being "coached" "written up" for not going into the office. SMDH!
(My mgr is a d**k and is probably chomping at the bit to have that conversation.)

"Any WFC site counts, not just your assigned location."

No, it doesn't. Badge swipes are counted for your assigned site.

My take is they're looking at stats on who is going in or not -- and mostly top level numbers for directional purposes. At some point expect that if somebody isn't showing up as many days as they're being told then different conversations will take place. As far as I know we're not there YET everywhere.

Insofar as what building you go to and your Workday location -- I'd suspect that they'll ask and change your work location if it makes sense. I changed jobs last year and moved during COVID assuming I could go to another location in my city. My manager changed my location more than once and had showed my old place up until now. If somebody gives me sh*t about it, I'll ask them to kindly get Workday etc. to actually work correctly.

folks, they can also check by your laptop login data, not solely with your badge swipes.

hmmm, check with your manager. I do remember they assigned some to different offices right before RTO and said to go to that site while they worked on updating Workday. It's been so confusing!

Thanks! I’m assigned to a site in Workday but received an email right before RTO started that said to go to a different site. So d-mb.

Monitoring is done at the site you are based in Workday. If you go to another site, the swipe does not count.

If they want to play games with intelligent people, expect games to be played.
