Looks like those eligible are taking retirement at quite a large amount. Between this and the number who will take the PIL instead of the pip one has to think the number they're trying to achieve is getting closer.

Increasingly they're bringing back annuitants as contractors. Of course it's always some managers good buddies, so it doesn't help in terms of getting any work done, but I guess it points to some recognition we're short handed.
If you are overworked and underpaid, then that is your fault. And this won’t change unless YOU do something about it.
Leave! Find a job where you feel better compensated. As soon as ranking is over, then do the bare minimum and start looking for your next job. You won’t regret it! There are tons of jobs out there for people of all backgrounds and skill areas.
