Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Operational Risk Group (ORBO) - CIB

Does anyone have any intel on this group ? They seem to be a new team operating as operational risk covering CIB.

Seems like a good team but not sure if this is just a team for the regulators or has actual teeth. Have been seeing open roles but not sure if it’s worth it.

In addition, there are a tons of operational risk roles throughout the firm so not sure if this group is part of the hire and fire strategy after the cap gets lifted.

Thanks. When you say questionable are you talking about the directs of JK ? I think CIB in general is good if you get to know the business but not sure what this team does. There is word out there that the business leads reporting to JK are not that solid with technical experience.

Overall seems like a good team to be in given the massive layoffs/cuts happening across the org and also a good way to learn CIB business operations. I could be wrong though

Leadership seems good (JK). They have made some questionable hires as they are desperate for anyone with business knowledge/experience in a CIB or CIB risk/control environment. As with most risk functions, once the consent orders are gone, and hopefully the data and tech gets in order there will be cuts. When, how many, and who are the questions.
