How long is the hiding freeze going to last? Does a hiring freeze also equate to no layoffs?

There definitely is a hiring freeze in some parts of the company. I don’t know how far it extends.

My team was hit by this. We were already way understaffed and it's a major blow to morale and stress. I was around prior to the workforce changes. It took me a while to notice but now I realize the new company "strategy" is to fu-k over customers that are unable to move to alternative products and get a nice quick profit for the leaders before they jump ship to the next company to destroy.

"Be Here Now" has a new meaning: Don't give a sh-t about the impact you'll cause tomorrow.

Why would anyone want to work in the US at TR when they can do their research and see that the ultimate goal of the current management is to ship all non-sales roles to lower cost countries?

I’ve heard of positions being open for months with no applicants. Either TR has a reputation now or they pay so little that no one is applying.

Some teams are not allowed to fill positions while others are allowed to lowball.

Yup, not the whole org. Some teams are struggling to fill openings because everyone rejects TRs lowball offers.

My boss's boss announced yesterday that there is basically a hiring freeze (maybe in the entire Product organization?) due to failure to meet "Change Program" goals 🙄

It's well known that when selling products in the near future, companies don't fill positions. The companies acquiring TR businesses (that are currently for sale) don't want to acquire a lot of employees and TR doesn't want the expense of laying them off. It looks like TR is pretending it is business as usual until the company can divest of some product lines. Just a theory.

Some teams are authorized to hire and others are denied? Is the hiring freeze being imposed for teams up for sale only?

My team is hiring another editor to replace one that transferred to another project, and the hire will be in America.

Heard form little tweety bird that hiring freeze is in U.S. -- positions are being filled in India, Manila, Poland, Mexico, especially in Customer Experience and Ops and Tech. So if you're under KR's umbrella and you're in U.S. or CX in Ann Arbor, say Goodbye. Bidaya, Alweda, Do Widzenia. Paalam Na, Adios.

It’s not the whole org. I just heard this week that one team is not able to backfill key positions but I know another team is able to.

Soooooo stupid
