Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I don't want to work extra hours anymore

I have been working extra hours for free for a long time because I can't find another job that will pay my bills. On the other hand, I can no longer work extra hours because I am exhausted. How did you refuse to work all those extra hours without jeopardizing your job?

Remember if you don't work extra there will always be an H1B who will work for lower pay or job will be outsourced to cheaper place. That's what been happening anyway.

I wish everyone would opt to take a 15% reduction in pay inorder to help the business.

You work for free?

Even 15 minutes that you aren’t paid for and you’re a damned fool.

Pay me. Pay me. Pay me.

Say that until it sinks in to your brain

I just got to the point that I dont really care. I will work extra hours in the very rare situation it is interesting or Ill learn something but not for most other reasons. It took them almost two years to hire someone in my department so im not too concerned and would be relieved to go.

Make sure you record your time even though you are not getting paid for OT.
