Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This will slowly become a mediocrity company

Managers who play favorites openly and without any consequences, cutting those who have the most skills and keeping those with less skills, promoting people to positions that exceed their knowledge and skills - all this cannot end well. There are still a lot of great people here, but I'm afraid Ford is turning into a paradise for mediocrities?

Unfortunately Ford is the least likely to survive out of the Detroit 3. There's always been mention that one is going to fall. Let's see if it's going to be Ford.

Yes, I am actually relieved I got the tap this week for SIRP. I can take that package, and also retire at the same time - so I plan to do just that as soon as I can file the paperwork (SIRP can be filed week, but our special retirement kit is not arriving until next week)

Taking the pension in cash, and squirreling most of it away for when they discontinue the retirement HRA, too. Fun times we live. Good thing the wife and I saw through the fake results and realized things weren’t as they seemed - since 2019 we have drastically redid our finances and cut back a lot, even before COVID. For all those just starting at Ford, remember two things : don’t stay too long, no one wins a prize for being last off a sinking ship, and don’t believe the hype - ever - about Ford, for you will be worshiping at a false idol.

People who can talk, talk and talk are promoted. Those who can do real hard work like coding or CAE are ignored. Good looking people are hired. What do you expect?

You haven't been reading this site or lack reading comprehension. Mediocrity has been the status quo for many, many years now!

Becoming? We're closer again to single digits than well into double digits stock price. It's been in this smaller range for years if not decades so sum total of it all I think it's safe to say we're firmly there if not worse.
