Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Te--orized Workforce = Worse Quality & Performance

So all the fat cat execs at the 3 Fords' now will sit hoovering up all the money due to their huge salaries while they .te--orize their workforce with quarterly layoffs. My GOD, how exactly do you expect anyone to work under that level of psychological fear and stress? Recipe for failure when you put people's lives and families on the line, every day. You can now just stick a fork in all the products and services we are working on as they will be total garbage. Between daily threat of losing your job and the distraction of others using their time to find a new job. Yeah, another great move by our id--tic Sr mgt.

I've been in the automotive field my entire career, 15+ years. I've been at Ford a while now, not to give out too much information. People everywhere that I talk to at Ford are depressed, anxiety-ridden, overworked, and stressed. People are beginning to look for employment outside of Ford and a lot even out of Auto. There are a lot of things for energy, health, aero/space, and manufacturing that are hiring and not a constant cyclic doom and gloom cycle. Saying I work at Ford lately feels embarrassing, I am not proud of this company, I am not proud of how they handle things. They want to be TESLA so bad, Farely constantly slings cr-p their way. Ford is downsizing and trying to become profitable, while others are hiring and are profitable and growing.

Yep, the message is clear....DO NOT get comfortable. No matter your performance. No matter the project. No matter your compensation. ANYONE can get tapped on the shoulder at any moment and shown the door.

The NEW Ford. Where there is no job security. You are a number (salary) on a piece of paper. Oh, and if you are pension eligible you get a checkmark next to your name too.

Meantime, Teleprompter Jim gets $30 million a year and gets to go race ICE cars.......despite telling everyone else they should embrace EVs. You cannot make this %*#%( up!!

It’s a stark contrast to the start of the pandemic where they didn’t cut salaries because they didn’t want us worrying about our finances.

Simply a culture of fear and depression. In 35 years (and, no, I'm not one of those hanging on with a pension), I've never seen such an unhappy work force. Anyone with 5-8 years of seniority should leave now before you too are broken. Go anywhere else where you can thrive and be appreciated.
