Wells Fargo Mistakenly Announces Death of Advisor Who Left Firm

In reality, Robert Brian Watson didn’t die. He had just broken away from the firm.

What kind of people work at this dumpster fire ? Wells Fargo people have been a total disaster in years of self-promotion, politics, favoritism and disfunction left much of the bank dying.

@zrx+1gwvtMRj That is literally not the rule, that is just how WFA applies it for their own benefit and ease. Just look to the rest of the BDs at WF, and other major banks as examples, they have several options for BDs that they have reciprocal relationships with for sharing employee trading account data for appropriate supervision, monitoring and surveillance. You sound like a WFA lifer who either doesn’t know how this works elsewhere or is benefiting from this WFA policy being applied as if it’s a rule.

Ok, I think this is a pretty obvious mistake.

But it raises a very concerning question- if a mistake this big can happen in the front office, how many smaller mistakes are there in operations that happen affecting customers that don’t notice and/or get swept under the rug?

It's required for all FINRA member employees to have their accounts with the same firm. So blame FINRA there.

Wells is rotting from the inside out. It’s not just a dumpster fire, it’s a cataclysmic atomic bo-b waiting to go off for good. Bye.

not surprised. Probably not a mistake either. WFA does a lot of shady things to get clients, the most obvious being forcing their own employees to move their investment accounts to WFA. I’ve never worked somewhere where that was the ONLY option before.
