Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Diversity SVP necessary?

Do you think we really needed to hire an SVP level diversity executive? I feel like there has already been a lot of attention and effort placed in this area. Felt like we had moved the needle based on all of the continued we're a top employer for XYZ messaging we see.

Curious to hear from the minority, LGBT, other population.

VZ is flat out racist. Telling white people to be “Less White”, indoctrinating our colleagues to believe the false theories of “white privilege” and “white fragility”, it’s disgusting and racist. People are quietly leaving the company because they are disgusted by the disrespectful, hateful attitude toward white people. Until VZ ends the racism, the company will continue to fail.

VZ wastes way to much time and resources trying to punish the white man. Lots of reverse discrimination and hostility toward white men.

By hiring a Diversity SVP, Verizon can now tell the world look what we did to improve diversity. It is a PR move that looks great to the outside.

No a diversity SVP is not needed. What is needed is action, get rid of some of these joke executives that talk out of the side of their mouth. I watched a very diverse org push out most minorities and now the org is back to being the old school no minorities to be seen mode. Just a select two or three to hide the game.

We love checking boxes. While tmobile again is eating our lunch. And yes, their service is just as good, don't drink the network cool aid.

Verizon has lost it's way. The stock price is now $45.62. Absolutely unacceptable. Time for a change at the top to wake up and shake up this company. Find the best person for the job, period.

How about hiring somebody that can get the stock back up to 52.00 rather than diversely putting somebody in that spot ??

The company has so many focus groups around hiring black talent with zero focus on Hispanic and Native American. They hired this SVP just to check a box.
