Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Debt

Despite unloading TW AT&T continues to issue debt! What happened to the $43 billion reduction from TW. AT&T will never get out from under the debt created by Stephenson and Stankey fiascos. One acquired the companies and the other turns around and unloads them at a loss. Both of them got bonuses for a train wreck.

Both are on track to pull out $200 million in compensation and perks!!

The stock only goes between $18-$20.

That's interesting, last metrics I saw indicated T was losing revenue at a pace of 10% per year. I don't foresee anything changing except that percentage could rise. Let's see where T is in 10 years!

Nobody is swiping pension or benefits. Some letting your fears dominate your imagination. AT&T is bringing in lots of revenue.

I fear debt I just p-e in my pants when I hear the word "debt".

You should if you are an employee of T. T is not going to pay down debt with revenue alone but by rescinding benefits long thought safe to non bargained employees. First they swiped your health care, your pension is next. Stankey has bills to pay, and YOU are the piggy bank.

Try taking the MARKET CAPITALIZATION figure and divide that number by the share price! That is the actual amount of shares out there, not the debt figure!

Thank you!

OK You asked for it:
T long term debt in millions 180,225
7,142,892,741 number of shares
debt per share is $25.23
T stock price is $19.95.
So if you buy one share for that, you owe $25.23 which is more than the purchase price.

T will never be able to payoff the debt created by Stankey and Stephenson. They are the laughing stock of all blue chip companies.

"Take the total debt and divide it by the number of shares. Then compare that with the att stock price.
You will be surprised."

Apparently, math is not your strong suit.

There are interest rates, and then there is "real" interest rates, which is the interest rate minus the inflation rate. Right now, "real" interest rates are still negative, so borrowing could still make sense in certain situations.

The real question is, is AT&T over extended, over leveraged? Compared to Verizon, looks like it,

ATT is going to start charging for electronic billing and online payments. Customers can avoid the fee by bringing a CD-R to a COR store so they can up sell while they burn your statement to disc.

They can avoid the electronic billing fee by paying with a check in store. Paying with debit card is only $3 charge, and credit card is $6. $10 for venmo. Cash is only accepted at the kiosk.

Interest rates going below zero...do you listen to or read the news? The Fed is raising rates 225 basis points between now and September of this year. No company will buy another that is saddled with this much debt. Business 101

I think att will be acquired and then the debt will get taken care of because no way they can pay down that debt from their customer base.

maybe interests rates will go below zero and then att will get paid for having debt.

more creative financing just like their billing.
