Did anyone else get any edicts recently about more rigid rules regarding productivity and how we fill out our time sheets? My manager seemed uninformed and combative when going over these new guidelines. I've only been with the company for a year and 3 months but i've never been in a team meeting that was as hostile as the meeting we had last week. Are they just trying to scare people off to avoid laying people off or was this specific to my manager?

What new rules? Details please
Yes, the whole purpose is likely to get you to quit. This is exactly what they did to our team leading up to a very large round of layoffs. They dismantled our old team structure, dividing us into two groups based primarily along age (50+ versus under 50 years of age), putting us all in new roles. For the older workers, they set these near impossible, strict production quotas, and really punitive measures if you didn't hit the numbers, even docking incentive pay. Required you to work nights and weekends and be put on probation if you missed quotas even one quarter. They also put in really strict surveillance and monitoring of our team, recording everything we did and then auditing and micro-managing the recordings. Then, after a year of this nonsense, they let go all of the older workers.
