Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Conversations with Corey

Corey thinks people still come to AT&T for a lifetime career and can move up from front line to executive. Those days are long gone

Near the end, the other guy talks about behaviors that lead to leaders not being successful. He should have said to look at the AT&T executive board.

Corey was pushed into that position due to affirmative action. He's been an SVP for a million years... That lets you know somebody up top does not like him

He flew all the way from Texas to Atlanta for an employees 30 service award. What a boondoggle.

Cory just tells employees what they want to hear. Facts don't matter to Cory!

All Corey does is go to banquets and collect diversity trophies, and make power point graphs!!

Stupid is as stupid does.

Haven’t seen anyone start at the bottom and work their way up yet in my lifetime. I’ve met a handful of old timers that have, but no one in the younger generations (Gen X or Y). Millennials are still just too young to be there yet, but most are pushing 40 now. Those days are long gone.

C Suite does not want people making careers here. JS made is crystal clear in his town hall.

Corey is focused on diversity, reverse discrimination, basing promotions and hiring on color. A very poor leader who should not be in that position so he feels he accomplished something which he did - pulling the wool over the eyes of AT&T's bumbling leaders

Corey came into our center years ago, said that because we were not in the big circle (Dallas, Atlanta, St Louis) and said in some many words that we didn't matter.

I guess Corey wasn't listening what Stankey said on one of his recent town hall meetings that he doesn't want people to stay for more than 3-5 years. Doesn't want to build knowledge and keep it. Just wants to hire the people that already have the knowledge needed and get rid of them before their salaries start to grow. He sees it as a cost saving. It is happening now with all the contractors from TechM and Accenture, they rotate in and out every 12-24 months. At least they leave with the experience to go work somewhere else for a lot more money.

The best part of the conversation was the guy from Fed-Ex. His perspective on how things are done At FE made sense.
Corey is not an executive based on anyone who listened to his grammar and line of questions.

You know they aren’t staying that long for the retirement dinner. The company stalled so long on providing me mine, time ran out. They ran out the click on me but hey, I’m considering coming back for the 10k bonus and then retire again. Oh and do nothing while O run out the clock for the 10k.

Corey is like your mega church pastor, preaching the prosperity gospel. He has the winning look and the smooth talk, and keeping the flock in line. Keep working your station while executives stuff their pockets.

Corey is completely disillusioned and lives in a different world. He’s like the Dr. Phil of AT&T!
