When I first passed 100k base at Pacific Life annuities and mutual funds my boss gave me this congratulatory speech saying congrats… you are now in the top x% of earners
You now make more than some doctors and on and on he went. It was 2015…..
It must have been some canned speech someone gave him 15 years ago and he just regurgitated is as needed.
I used my IT Nina skills to find out 4 of the 9 PMO office team members in the same row with us had a base salary between 100-130k..

There was a SF BART janitor named Liang Zhao Zhang who made $271,000. Only the guy would sleep in a storage closet most the day. If you ever rode Bart or went through the stations, they don't look like they've been cleaned in decades. There's a bunch of gov't workers doing blue collar type work pulling in 200K plus in pension and retire in their early 40's.
