Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The rumors are saying 5k to 6k more cuts this year. Is that true? Has anyone heard anything?

That happened to me too. My position was eliminated. Outsourced. Luckily I found a spot myself!!!

If they're being told to leave, that's an involuntary separation (SIRP). In what area were these employees who told to 'leave'?

Some Ford employees were told already their current position eliminated, find another position or leave. no package was offered.

Thats my question too. Does it sound like next time will be a similar format, as in LL4's will again sign a confidentiality agreement so no leaks expected?

So when is the next layoff planned?

It won't be as high the longer they go. They are hemorrhaging talent weekly. At this rate if they target is 6k, they'll only need to lay off 3k because by time they pull the trigger they will have lost half. Just back from Memorial Day and several in my area have already put in their notices.

The last one left please turn out the lights............

Ford has 25,000 salary people too many. We will not be competitive until we’ve culled that number, or at minimum moved those jobs to lower cost countries.

Given the state of the part shortages coming anything is possible. Vehicles parked all over Dearborn and around the country. So that number is not unrealistic.
The troops have one idea what it takes to handle the current workload vs what the top-level management have in mind.
I see an LL6 provided their comments about performance. If your people are not doing anything then maybe, you need to look into the mirror! I wander what your pulse score is?
I too was an LL6 retired. But I took interest in what my people under me worked on vs. throwing them to the side like you. So, if an employee has a disagreement with you fire them? So much for a democracy. You're the type of boss I tell my people to avoid.

As far as I know under my manager ( LL4) the team consists of 75 people. By End of June there would be 15 people lay off. Mostly agency for now and in later stages Direct hires will be targeted who are incompetent & are merely filling excel sheets doing nothing.

The total number of employees left under my LL4 would around 35 by end of this year.

P.S- I am a LL6

@OP. I doubt we are going to know the number before it happens. The last layoff, just a couple of months back, took everyone by surprise. It seems that LL4s were forced to sign a confidentiality agreement. I believe this is going to be the "modus operandi" going forward.

I believe layoffs were coming in March/April, but the splitting of the company delayed those plans around 90 days. So I am expecting them to hit on June/July. BTW, all NA Ford employees have a target in their backs. Sooner or later, we'll be goners since the company is trying to outsource to India and Mexico.

Need more cost-saving (CRID) ideas to prevent the layoffs.
