Any expats here trying to rationalize why we are still working here ? We don't even get 3% bonus; expat benefit is less attractive. I don't even can afford the same car I had in my home country #sigh

EM sending US Expats to BTC is ironic.
We hire you people to work 80 hours a week at a fraction of the pay.
I am an expat in the US, didn’t get the 3%, my local payroll is poor, benefits have been going down for years. It’s not worth it anymore and I am looking to be repatriated next year. Culture in this company is rotten, at some point something big will break and I’m kind of looking forward to it. Expectations from me are insane, more work than ever before, also there is a huge political power play going on upstairs due to all the reorganizations which hinders everything. Greed and power is ugly up close.
28/28 rotation was what I did for 35 years. The money was great and the time off allowed to pick up extra $ holding a second non oil field job on days off. I retired from EM in 2016 financially independent. Everyday for me is now a day off. Life is good.
Living the good life in the Blue Ridge Mountains down the road from Veritus Winery. Ha!
Good luck to all
if you think that US expats have the same expectation as locals you are completely misguided. The expectations are that you're there to work all the time, to be available all the time, and carry twice the workload. The locals have a life and family to be a part of, you do not according to the company.
Currently expat in US. With low expat package, I decided not to bring my family here. In fact I need to downgrade my lifestyle so that I can maximize my savings. My aim goal is to save as much as possible and leave this toxic culture. Need to also mentally prepare with PDS which will favor local folks.
Having said that, those US folks who got expat assignment in AP will earn significantly more. Got paid higher than locals in AP but expectation to deliver will be the same. Regardless of where you are, the benefits will favor US folks since this is American company.
US expats working abroad don’t receive the 3%? Is this confirmed?
I'd give my left nut for a rotation. Working half the year and higher uplift and back to back relief. While the in country expats are stuck in country working 24/7 all year long with no back to back.
Rotators are the ones that have been taken to the cleaners the past few years. Especially in hard to staff locations.
@icoi - only US employee will receive it. If you are expat working in US, then you wont get that 3%
Expat benefits have been in continuam decline just like all other benefits.
Being from Guyana, I'm happy to have money to send back to my family.
But I don't get the love for hot water these people have.
Unhealthy. So many things here are unhealthy.
I'm gonna be pi---d if I dont get the 3%.
Where does it say expats dont get it?
