I have heard that additional OPEX cuts, read lay offs, are coming - only way to justify the massive slowdown in sales and subscriptions. Anyone else hearing that in your BU's or functions?

Glad my salary isn’t charged to opex.
It’s Aluminium
Yet you mangle the word "aluminum" when you speak it.
“ Whomever approved the Oprah thing should be hanged in public”
“Whoever”, not whomever. You write English like the northerners in England. Troglodytes ‘R Us!
Whomever approved the Oprah thing should be hanged in public.
Customer and Partners call us the new IBM. On OPEX reduction, well, it does not appear for all units. CX is the place to be. Adoption baby! No restrictions, hiring like he-l. OPEX is not a problem. Account Managers and Presales resources are. Good luck!
OPEX is a contraction of "OPrah EXpenses".
Gotta pay for Oprah….
From SVP salary/bonus/options calculator tool, "OPEX" is:
"Only Peasants Expense".
It's a big club, and you aren't part of it.
LRaaS to be used this time around, for the first time actually. To those who will be LR'ed, you will be interacting with a bot or some AI thingy, no more mgr or HR giving you notification - this has been deemed cruel and meanspirited. A mgr was smiling gently while reading the script to someone who was being LR'ed, he reported that to HR and posted it online. Oh yeah!
I work as a new hire in Cisco Accounting. What is this opex thing about?
For the newbie: OpEx = Operating Expenses
Got an email today passed along from a colleague from theatre VP mandating ZERO OPEX. Oh and humbly begging people to take 7 days PTO this quarter. All travel (except IMPACT) cancelled.
If this doesn’t lead to layoffs in Q1, I’ll eat my hat.
Only a n00b or a f00l believes the hype, you can reword it anyway you want but the layoffs are coming.
Hiring freeze is the same as a layoff but worse since the BUs that are carrying the business suffer when they can’t backfill. Terrible move by Cisco leadership.
I'm new to Cisco. What does OPEX mean?
Impact Vegas baby - party!!!!!!
Yes, 9-11% Opex cut going into FY23, hiring freeze w/ no backfills and no internal travel this quarter (but no lay offs) in our sales team.
"unofficially" heard that too
