Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mid-years

Thinking of starting a company that sells written self evaluations tailored to your corporate objectives. Guaranteed to make you sound like a world beater while saying nothing at all.
Who'd buy?

Sign me up. What an incredible waste of time. We should not be spending this much time and the direct managers time. How much money is that costing Wells Fargo. They need some cost accounting done on how we spend labor. Oh that is right we do that on weekends. Just like Cloud certifications for support non engineering people.

These reviews are counterproductive. When somebody busts their tail all year and then gets a bad review because their clueless manager doesn't even know what their job is, what message does it send to that employee? How will that employee "perform" the next year?

Last year my mgr copied and pasted reviews but forgot to change the names. What a tool!

Optional but our manager said he's requiring them, though they never make a difference and just waste time, this time I just said my goals for this year are to find a new role, tired of this BS.

Spoken like an employee that has only been here 3 years

As someone who finds writing them absolutely pointless, I’d pay for such a service. Heck, it wouldn’t even need to be tailored to my exact job - as long as it was generically related to each role, it would be just as relevant as someone spending hours writing one.

We were advised they just propagated the same goals from last year. Glad I saved my inputs into a word document. Copy-Paste here I come!

I think I’m taking the optional route. My manager usually just copied what I wrote anyways so I’d like to see their words and not mine.

doubt WF would buy in...it would be nice to see a process that was fair AND equitable. the current process has always been biased... instead of thoughtfully constructing assessments using agreed-upon processes and criteria that are consistently applied across all employees.

HR sent out email about mid-year performance review: all links in that email return 404 error. 😀
