I wanted to keep this job and worked long hours without any complaints, doing work that someone else should be doing. Now that I am absolutely burned out and leaving soon, I would advise that no one puts in any extra effort.
Why does BofA tend to overload those who work hard with even more work? Perhaps because management thinks none of the employees here have a limit of how much of something can be tolerated.

Just don't work beyond 40 hours, when you get to the end of the day (the time listed when you posted for the job) stop working go home and don't worry about it. Get done what you can get done then tomorrow leave on time rinse and repeat. Keep a log of your daily accomplishments that you could send to your manager or HR at any time. Make it clear to your leadership that you're not going to work more than 40 hours but you will work as hard as you can while you're "on the clock". In this job market they're not going to get rid of you for setting reasonable limits. If they want more out of you and you're okay with that make it clear that you want more compensation in return.
This is happening with me as well and it’s nearly impossible to get out of. It is due to poor management which is rampant at BOA. Also the lack of having an innovative culture affects things. Everything is so manual and no one cares to automate, they just want to do things the way they always have which is so outdated.
It’s a lack of management/leadership skills by managers. Their idea of management is to burn out the ones that work hard and go easy on the ones that do very little. Same situation for me. Got tired of it but also my mental health started to deteriorate. Left as well! I came to the realization that no job is worth my sanity.
