Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Has anyone noticed

Headcount after 3 years of Chuck, Scottie, Tanner, Billy-boy and company has not decreased significantly. What has decreased is dollars on salary as they run off tenured staff and off shore or hire young and d-mb.

@tzw+1h2LNtyD LOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Only if your existing US devs were complete and utter mo--ns to begin with. On our offshore group of over 20devs, only 3 are worth a sh-t. The rest can barely code a FizzBuzz without help. And design? These jokers barely know what a class and an interface are used for. The best they can usually do is copy-paste from existing code or stackoverflow.

Just look at the Charlie Headcount thread. 10k drop since 1/10…

Roughly a 30k drop after the first of the year after bonus and 401k match criteria was met. Expect lower attrition till after the new years again. Layoffs will still be monthly

Actually we’ve found that the offshore software developers are generally equivalent to and often better than our our U.S. developers for the most part. This is particularly true if they are encouraged to step up and participate in design. Many of them exceed all expectations and are very talented.

However, the bulk of the offshore employees are in Operations and this model is failing completely. The offshore Operations staff requires detailed endless scripts which have to be constantly revised for even the most obvious changes. And don’t even get me started on using them for customer support. Every Senior leader should call offshore a few times posing as a customer in order to understand how badly it harms our customers.

I for one don’t get the whole Jamie Dimon JPMorgan Chase worship. We are about ready to terminate all relationships with JPMorgan Chase because of continual errors and antiquated systems. Talk about a quality meltdown… how is this guy a legend?

About 10% of the off-shore folks are good. The rest aren’t competent, don’t care, or both.

You both described the Chase playbook which you knew these folks would emulate coming in. What nobody tells you is how these folks failed at that there and will do so again, cashing out before it crashes and burns.

They fire 1 in the us and hire 2 in India to try to do their work. Then normal attrition keeps the numbers level.

Once India is staffed up and trained by US employees, the major blood letting will start.
