Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Does BOA fire easily

I’m curious what the protocol is for someone to get fired (not laid off). I’m in a right to work state so I know they can fire at anytime for any reason, but just curious if The bank has a certain path they follow before actually firing someone.

I do think it is very hard being fired for laziness or simply not doing your job. I do think if you bring things to HR that they would like to keep covered up it is highly likely they fire you to keep it covered....just my thoughts and opinions..

With the discussion and response so far, I felt it makes people who got fired(terminated) felt shame and embarrassed to talk their bad experience with Bofa management.

No. And if you're a bad manager, they'll just get you a "coach".

Don't worry about it.

Interesting about the H1B. But makes sense. With the first announcement of RTO in 2020. We lost a lot of people and continue to still lose people.
So the H1B will be very grateful for a 2% yearly increase.

Companies fire American to ensure H1-B visa application will be approved.

They cannot use layoff by law because that basically delays their H1B visa and green card applications by 6 months.

It depends on the role. If you are in sales and not hitting your quotas, they will put you on a performance plan and make your life so miserable you will leave on your own. How? They use cult tactics like harassment, micro-management, shunning, humiliation, destroy your professional reputation, etc. They'll take away your clients, or give you a crappier sales territory. Generally, the non-sales related roles tend to me more insulated from these situations.

Dang near impossible! In my 15 years here I’ve seen one teller fired for stealing about 60k over a span of several months, and one manager fired for sleeping with a subordinate. They usually lay people off instead of firing.

Impossible. I've been trying for years.

Unless you commit a felony. (seen that happen, but not willing to go that far myself)

Oh! I know one guy who got fired for (literally) watching po-n for 8 hours a day for SIX MONTHS! (they had to gather the evidence and document the case per the HR procedure.)

His response, "surprised it took you so long"

Guess that's why we have the site blocker now.

It’s impossible to get fired here. Not even worth spending the time worrying about it. Layoffs are a different story

First of all, who the he-l is BOA going to fire from this shlithole of a company? The pay here sucks. The management here is weak and incompetent. Half the managers here are nonenglish speaking mutherfockers holding hour long conference calls. The CEO is trying to ki-l or sicken us by having the RTO in place. Please just tell me who the fck are they going to fire?
