Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Serious question

With interest rates rising, is this a concern for the amount of debt fiserv has. Or has this been mitigated in some way already

There will come a day when Fiserv defaults. It appears to be inevitable. The old saying is true: you can’t cut your way to prosperity. Frank and his band of Gypsies will have moved in before then, taking everything they can.

Companies in the S&P 500 loaded up on debt due to the low-interest rates. This could be the basis for the next financial crisis as many are over-leveraged. In any case, I doubt Fiserv is prepared for a massive increase in interest rates on its debt. I worked for Fiserv for many years and when it came to finance management always just cared about today, tomorrow be damned.

Fiserv does NOT care about their employee’s future. Upper management takes care of themselves. Requiring every remote employee to relocate to a city that has a First Data (not Fiserv) building or you lose your job. Fiserv is First Data and nobody’s being fooled. They take 2 steps backwards every other day. Worst decision ever to merge with First Data. Losing (Lost) lots of good, hardworking people.

Depends on the debt schedule. How many bond can be paid off with cash as the come due and which bonds needs to be paid for by issuing new bonds.

Should be listed in the 10-K and broken out by year.

The problem with interest rates rising is that future bonds will require a higher payment. So issuing new bonds to replace the old bonds that are reaching maturity will be more expensive.

This shouldn't be an issue unless they have been cutting back on staff and reducing their ability to generate future revenue.

They don't think that far ahead.
