Promote higher salary, fire DW, end Rankings, WFH, every other Friday off, stocks, real bonuses, anything else?

why do boomers love the taste of the underside of corporate executives ballsacks so much?
@4gqs Exactly how likely are your suggestions? EM will do this out of the hood of their hearts? Fairness is something that only applies to children in elementary school.
Hence the need for collective bargaining, or as you call it, extortion. Funny, people dont call it illegal when the executives get bonuses in down years. Hmmmm?
I think collective bargaining is a bit like extortion.
EM should actually implement policies that eliminate all need for collective bargaining.
First policy should be every employee gets annual pay increase equal to inflation. This is to keep us whole.
Second is to give 3% bonus every month that price of oil averages over $100. Executives get bonuses so employees should get bonuses.
Please tell me what three and four should be.
I don’t particularly want a union, but anyone denying the benefits of collective bargaining for WORKERS isn’t just delusional, but they’re actively being used by the C-suite criminals to r@pe us.
@1btt At least said mo--ns will be elected by and accountable to the rank & file workers.
The alternative is to continue to bend over and take it hard and deep from your corporate overlords.
Yes, but the union will need its own board of mo--nic leaders, which ultimately will be corrupted like all other leaders in the world…. You nincompoop.
If a business says union is bad then it’s good for the workers. End of story.
None of the gains for workers occurred because of this mo--nic idea of great leadership - they were all won by unions.
I'd like to see a Management union formed.
Establish some criteria for membership to belong to 'Management'.
- Professional/Technical expertise in at least some area.
- Proven collaboration skills, with those 'below' as well as those 'above.'
- Demonstrated ability to disagree when logic is being ignored or distorted.
- A generally well-liked person.
I understand this is an impossibility.
That's why we grunts need to organize.
@krz You forgot to mention that those same conservatives in the company extolled corporate power in the most obnoxious form - until they themselves were on the receiving end of it. Now, all of a sudden, they want it reigned in and to see executives held to account. They’re nearly as vulgar as they are hypocritical.
That would certainly expedite the move of remaining jobs to India haha
Instead of unionizing - you could form a walkout. Demanding an inflationary raise across the board for ALL non-executive personnel on campus. Lots of complaining on this site about bad leaders… blah blah blah…. Here’s your chance to show us what leadership looks like. No? Nothing? Didn’t think so.
You can tell who has not done an assignment in a union ruled country. Careful what you wish for.
Let’s do it
I support a union. Problem is most of Exxon is full of conservatives who are convinced that all they need is a Great Leader(TM) to bring back the "good old days". What they don't realize is that weekends, paid time off, and every holiday was hard won by unions during the greatest generation period and have become convinced by Reagan that all they need to do is work hard and stfu and they'll be rewarded. Until you can convince these conservatives of reality, an engineering union will never happen. Personally, I'm hoping that once TMTS is in full swing they'll realize how useful unions but I'm pretty sure it'll be too late and they'll start blaming the nearest brown person for their problems.
No thanks. Unions are bad news
We don’t need a union! We just need more competent leadership. I have been around unions for years and all they do is collect dues and push uncompetitive policies and benefits that further reduce job security
I think you need to accept the brutal truth, there's no future in anything apart from the upstream and LCS to support it. All other manufacturing sites, switch off the lights on the way out.
Scratch the union at the campus. The high number of campus employees aren’t needed. Needs to be a better focus on the manufacturing sites as that is where the key value of the organization is. Better compensation is needed, but a union is not competitive for a corporation like XOM as they tend to not make a site more competitive. We need to motivate and compensate the people we already have to make the company better again.
I just want salary raises that (at least) track with inflation and an end to forced rankings. No reason everyone in a group can’t do well.
All those other requests distract from that.
