It’s just like Ford you have a department meeting discussing rough times financially with the company, wanting to know if we have heard any rumors and five minutes after it’s over they send an email wanting us to look for talented people like us to apply for jobs at Ford. OMG.

Ford always wants to rejuvenate. Rid of the expensive old, hire the young cheaply. They are likely looking for fresh collage grads.
This is what "visionary CEOs" do. Look at Musk. "Return to the office or leave! Oh and we are cutting 10% of our workforce!"
Farley, not to be outdone, then orchestrates a recruitment incentive after months of saying we have too many employees. If Musk were to eat dirt on crackers, Farley would come out next week eating dung on crackers.
Not sure if you've ever looked at that site but they have some interesting jobs posted that I've never seen internally. Even though I'm definitely sure there are talented people pigeonholed in some department who would excel in a position if given the chance.

Strange that they don’t concern themselves with retaining talent. Like clockwork the best and brightest leave within a few years, and the mediocre settle in for lifetime employment.
The stubborn bright bulbs that stay longer are snuffed out in layoffs by the mediocre middle management who are threatened by talent.
India has taken most of the clerical work some in China but they do not want them on the phones so they will just replace older employees in customer service and collections etc with newer and or younger employees to get rid of retirees and those with a lot of vacation time.

There was also the reference to using Up work as a source to complete assignments. Not sure what type of work can be sent the re (eg. Clerical or secret) or even what kind of budget is used to pay. Does it indicate we will no longer hire agency or purchased service? Will direct hires be replaced by these virtual moonlighters? Very suspicious and sad- Ford has no respect for its employees.
Do you know someone you don't like or have a beef with? Encourage them to apply to Ford!
