Does anyone know how long health insurance coverage lasts after separation? Apparently HR functions are nonexistent in Annandale. They just show you the door without providing information. on legal obligations like COBRA.

If you are quitting, health coverage will stop the month following your separation. It is best to quit on the first of the month, so you will have coverage through the end of that month.
If you live in NJ, consider the ACA coverage, for example Horizon Blue Cross, instead of Cobra Aetna.
Depends on your family/etc. circumstances.
At least in states with respect for their people, there are options.
My guess, they are terminated at midnight of the day of separation.
What else do you expect from such an $hitty company?
