Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

TG should be FIRED!

Vote (Yes/No) whether you believe TG has turned Human Resources into Human Remains at XOM and should be FIRED! I believe she's not even NSI worthy! And her direct reports should also be NSId for not demonstrating "Courage of Conviction" to speak up. What are your thoughts? Let know if you are someone from HR and rather disagree with this sentiment and why.

Is HR hiring in US now or still cutting counts?

NSI: Presidents did pressure DWW but the man is not for listening. He wanted to retain 8% so we should be thankful they at least got him to 5%
I've been here a while, and without doubt this is the worst period I've experienced. So many good people leaving still and the bench is definitely weaker. Morale is rock bottom and won't recover for a decade, if ever.

@4rqo+1hCV4b7F so poor performers in the business turned pi-s poor HR leaders bringing the company down. Got it

My 2 favorite TG story...was at Corp HQ up until 2021. After the ship started sinking, I started interviewing for new jobs, but had to take the interviews from a private office not near mine to avoid suspicion. One morning while going to an interview in an unused office (if you've been to HQ you know the HR area is very depressing, quiet and empty) I passed her in the hall. She looked at me but didnt even say hi...just kept on walking like I didnt exist. I thought it was so ironic that I was about to leave the company (and start an interview, basically right outside her office) and this was the memory I would take with me....the culture of the HR VP and ignoring anyone around her.

The other one...when DWW started prepping for the town halls in early 2018-2019, there were Sli.do questions you could pre-submit (they are were all screened, btw). I remember hearing someone submitted a question that said "why did you hire a former ship captain as the HR VP, are you expecting a mutiny?" - that question never made the cut but it was so telling!

Good @4rqo+1hCV4b7F, at least someone from HR has guts to speak up and stand up. Thank you for sharing that HR (especially the mgmt.) is primarily stuffed with business folks with 0 HR knowledge. Hence, as someone said they have turned Human Resources into Human Remains. Any external HR folks, something to think about if you ever decide to join HR at XOM.

@3svv+1hCV4b7F what do you mean no spine to speak up? Are you speaking up to TG or your leadership? Do you have a sign at EMHC preaching? Prolly not? Because you're not looking to be immediately fired. Being in HR is no different my friend. We are still ranked just as you. And guess what? Most of HR's leaders are from the business (proudly boasting they were previously engineers or in marketing)
... And we know this means they just couldn't hack it in their original depts

@3nhl+1hCV4b7F, you think the org. deserves to be called People & Culture? Nope, as the other poster indicated, if anything they should rebrand themselves as Human Remains.

And I guess HR employees continue to remain on silent or at most on vibrate. No spine to speak up, eh! Look this is the Human Remains of the org. you guys. Won't stand up for self or in support of their own. Do you think this org. and its people will stand-up for you? Think again, if you thought they would.

Yes, TG needs to go. A lot of the problems with people and culture originate with TG decisions. She's been a main part of why the company is unable to drive positive change and why employees continue to flee.

@2dwx+1hCV4b7F, externally consultants has no interest in the welfare of the company and its people except collecting their compensation. It is VPs and mgmt., job to look after the health and welfare of the company, its employees, and investors. But it is only about the dividends and filling exec pockets and that's it.

@1ofl+1hCV4b7F, true. TG didn't leave her own org. either and cheated them as well. HR took in deeper cuts. The number of HR people let go during layoffs were actually more than the numbers of impacts announced by HR mgmt. team. HR. mgmt. couldn't be loyal to their own people, lied right through their own people and act as if nothing wrong was done. And now all are pretending as nothing happened. What else do you expect these highly paid but low class low lying souls. Likely, TG is also one of those without externally marketable skills and must be having hard time leaving as no one outside would pay her the dough she's making at XOM for having no skills and doing a poor job for her role.

It is all external consultants and scripts, folks.
The Veeps just collect money to maintain the facade.
So stop the whining and start winning.
Get out.

I am still stomped! No one from HR has chimed in. Wow! You guys in HR has nothing to say about TG? If not, either you are scared of her to the point of getting fired or are a proven testament that HR in XOM only exits to serve the likes of TG, DW, and corrupt mgmt. and no one else. Stand up for your fellow colleagues once spinless HR team

@1chn+1hCV4b7F you seem to be a troll or someone of mgmt. that is purposely trying to gaslight this thread to have someone post TGs name and have the thread potentially deleted, huh? Well TG is a publicly known figure so the name shouldn't cause the deletion of the thread and if it did than that would prove that this site is sponsored by XOM. Besides, if you don't know TG you should be right along with her on the NSI list.

My favorite TG story. This was about a decade ago. I was very early career, working in investor relations in Dallas. TG was one of the IR advisors. I had just recently rotated in to the group so I didn't know how everything worked fully yet. I asked her a question about preparing for the next earnings call. Her response was to look me right in the eye and literally said "Do you really expect me to tell you how to do your f--king job?"

Given how far she's been promoted since then, I can only assume this is our leadership framework at work.

TG is ok. I'd love to see her wearing black leather thigh boots and one of those Na-i SS hats. I think about that a lot.

Let's see what TG has delivered after taking over HR

  • Disguised layoffs
  • Disguised PIPs
  • Personal S-b Stories trying to collect sympathy
  • Mandatory PIP training (to say we told you so) telling how good it is for all
  • Stagnant salaries
  • Cutting services
  • Lacking benefits and total renumeration even when compared to o&g peers
  • Doing absolutely nothing to retain good and knowledgeable employees
  • Holding secret meetings with HR LT only for those with 10 and less years of service
  • Keeping incompetent managers in business while pushing out good productive employees out the door

Isn't this a sufficient list to say she's not even NSI material and should resign herself and be FIRED!

I am sure HR peeps can share more about her but I guess they are scared sharing more in open or admitting how bad their chief in command is.

Yes, based on performance both, TG and boss DW should be fired but as everyone knows these are the type of people XOM system produces unfortunately. So firing them for XOM is like swallowing their own sh-t which XOM would never do. I have seem IT and Upstream bosses selling XOM on LI to potential new candidates, however have yet to come across a single post from HR trying to sell XOM career to anyone on LI. This itself should speak volumes on the state of HR affairs.
