I have worked at different places and seen enough. By far the ExxonMobil culture and it’s employees and management are the most mentally corrupt and toxic humans on this planet. The poison has spread to far and deep that it is not possible to fix it.
This is why sane people are quitting and the worst of the worst are celebrating promotions, assignment changes, and bowing down to management on the LinkedIn.
OP, you have nailed the state of company, its culture, and its employees posting on LI or any other social media promoting the fake goodness that doesn't exist. I mean a company that used to advise or rather warn people from posting on social media just until a couple of years have all of a sudden flooded social media platforms with all sort of posts trying to portray how good the company is when in reality it is the opposite. I wonder the XOM lawyers are no longer advising the company to refrain from posting anything on social media because they are also the beneficiary of this circus.
LinkedIn is used to gain visibility with the senior executives now. I noticed it has got quite active recently, because it works!
