Why did LL4 Announce LL6 Transfer at All Hands Meeting?

The LL4 announced to the LL6, he would “never have another program again” and transferred the LL6. The LL6 had no clue this would happen prior to the meeting. The LL6 was humiliated in front of everyone. Why did the LL4 do this?

@2uxu - you’re the same person LL6 who would become enraged when an employee quit? You would try the passive aggressive behavior and when that didn’t work, your employee would be just driven out and forced to quit?

The comment about the LL4 compensating due to small endowment go deleted....but was probably the most accurate response in this thread!

@1pge That is crazy talk. LL4 and LL5 are not fired for being richards. I have seen a lot of Richard moves over the years. As a LL6 I once learned in a public meeting that I was being transferred to another area. I had zero heads up. Richards will be Richards. Give some people power and they become massive richards. You can often “get even” in subtle ways over the years and of course you can simply not care.

It can't be done in public, the LL4 could be fired.

Protocol is some advanced heads up. That may have happened and you did not know about it. All Hands is kind of an old meeting cadence so when did this happen exactly and in what division?

Likely he did it because he could and it made him feel powerful. It also served as a lesson to other ‘peons’.

About 10 years ago an LL6 thought he was all cozy with the upper echelons. He golfed with them and drank with them. The LL6 shared with his golfing ‘buddies’ that he was going to extend himself financially and purchase an expensive MI house. Two weeks after he closed on the house and the morning after his house warming party, it was announced in the department meeting that he was being transferred to Great Britain. The LL6 was visibly shocked. Seems the LL6’s golfing ‘buddies’ thought he was getting too big for his britches, and not a one of them warned him about his upcoming transfer - even though they knew about it, and one of them had initiated the transfer. The LL6 never rose above LL6.

The game play in the LL ranks is quite intense. They devote their careers to game play. Best not to play unless you understand all the rules and the players.

Are you crazy? You can’t ask an LL4 that. That would mean I am next on the list.

Why don't you just ask the LL4?
