Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

We're stuck in limbo

The main reason why we can't move forward is the many reorganizations we went through and the constant adding of new processes that only serve to further complicate things rather than simplify them. We've been stuck in reorganizational limbo for years with no way out.

AT&T uses change as a distraction to how poorly it performs, it is catching up quickly. Change for the sake of misdirection ends in another change, which is the T story for the last 10 years. We could afford it before, margins are so slim the sector investors no longer buy the fairytale. That spells a train wreck for loyal employees that didn’t / couldn’t leave. You won’t be getting an apology or Thank You from anyone in Dallas when you get that surprise mandatory conference call on a Friday p.m.

Years of continually looking for more ways to micromanage every single thing we do all day long just ended up causing a ton of extra work and didn’t produce anything positive for this company. But at least somewhere out there the spreadsheets looked good, even though they were a complete east of time and money.
