Our site is canceling food Fridays until after the nicotine screening and BMI measurements. Kind of like intermittent fasting.
We'll be celebrating with:
- "Back biting" donuts with plenty of,
- "Blaming the other function" hot chocolate
- "Elevator rides in a 2-story" site as soon as the testing is complete
Oh, it's October, time for new Leadership. Time to practice the old "We are so glad you're here" elevator pitch. I'm a lifer future shader ;)
There is no surcharge this year for BMI. Read the info.
Soon they will tax you for being unvaxxed. One thing at a time until you don't make any choices for your own life.
It's not the obesity or smoking that will get you. It's working for Honeywell.
Rewards aren’t the Honeywell way… well except in the spirit of that interrogation officer that offers you a cigarette or a candy bar after you have been beaten to exhaustion and locked in a small box for days.
See Something Say Something!
Many corporations have basically the same program in place.
EXCEPT, they start everyone off at the higher rate and if you can show that you are not in that category, they REWARD you with a discount. Getting a reward always feels better than a tax, surcharge, punishment or whatever you want to call it.
It's all in the wording. That's one of the things about this that gets people worked up.
The presentation could have been better thought out.
They can calculate BMI off your height,weight and waist size even though they don’t explicitly state it.
Look closely at the wording - those who get tested will avoid surcharges (and get lots of "get healthy" information shared with you). I seems they are establishing new baseline numbers since we didn't get tested the last couple of years. Also, they do not mention BMI, but rather just blood pressure, cholesterol, height, weight, and waist size. The punishment phase of our competition will likely begin next year (except for nicotine users - they start now unless they promise to try to quit).
1hfe- The reference is to the cost of the company healthcare plan. Those with high Body Mass Index or test positive for nicotine pay a higher amount than those that don't. Unsure if it's true this year- but that is what the OP is saying.
???Honeywell??? => Stress => Eating? +Smoking? => Fat+Smoking? => "Death and Taxes"
"Taxes" = healthcare bill?
A formula for success!!!!!!
Funny how eating disorders and nicotine addiction are poor life choices, but he---n addiction is a mental illness...
Why is it wrong for people that make poor life choices should pay more?
I was a fat smoker employed by HON when they started the biometric screenings. I failed cotinine (nicotine) and bmi for 5 years running. I never paid a surcharge on my insurance. First year was a gimme. Said I was trying to quit for a couple of years. Had to talk to a counselor on the phone (while I was on the clock) for a couple of years. Played the game as long as I could. I have now improved my life in 3 ways. I quit smoking. I have lost 50 lbs. And I no longer work for Honeywell. Man I feel great!
Smokin Fatback?
I'm not a smoker but it would still be nice to know what are you talking about?
I heard bmi was not in this years check
Someone has to pay for all of the short term disability from all of the vaccinated Covid cases!
