Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Looks like they want us to quit

Some countries are making RTO a legal right, most companies are realizing that RTO is not working and are allowing employees to continue working from home even after attempting to implement a hybrid model, but WFC doubles down and is now writing people up for not showing up? Is the goal to get people to quit en masse?

Executive compensation is tied to cost cutting measures. Employees are an expense. Executives pushing the RTO agenda, because do we really need all of them? The office is where they put their face-time in to justify themselves. If they paid me in excess of $10m dollars, I have no issue going to the office.

Where is RTO not a right? AFAIK, all countries allow companies to tell their employees where they work.

Yes, they want you to quit so they don't have to pay severence. Seems like it backfired though.

It’s clearly not fair across all lines of business. Some being held accountable and some not. What a mess! WF can never get it together. Laughable.

I know in my lob attrition has become a problem, too many people leaving, and as a result they are exploring ways to slow the outflow.

Yes, their goals are to decimate morale and the Company and demoralize their talent. Quit wo owing severance. Only Wells would do this. Attrition is da mission.

We heard that they didn't make their headcount numbers, and that the turnover that they got wasn't the "right" turnover. Manyh of the people who quit were the ones that management would rather have kept, and many of the people that are not quitting are the ones that management would like to get rid of.

Management should have offered voluntary packages long ago. They could have gotten rid of a lot of people that don't want to be here, and opened up those slots for new people. The "leaders" really missed the boat on that one.

Who have they written up? Since each LOB has it’s own policy and governance of said policy, it’s not WF as a whole. Would be nice to hear which LOB is actually enforcing it. I haven’t seen or heard anything as such in tech.

complain all you want, it isn't going to change things. of you are so unhappy about it go work remote for someone else. the nerve of a company writing people up for not following policy. for me the issue is less about the policy and more about the inconsistent application of said policy.

Yes. They've literally told us voluntary attrition is lower than they want to see, multiple times, in multiple employee townhalls and AMAs.
