I have been reading all these posts and it is baffling why people stay in a boiling pot. Is it that the Ford culture erodes self confidence and self reliance? Is it willful blindness? Is it entitlement after decades of receiving corporate welfare?
One guy posted that he was stressing over what % of people would be cut because he thought 2 people on his team were worse performers than him, but 7 people on his team were better performers than him. Unless the guy was a new hire, you have to wonder why he would be in the bottom quartile of his team for most of his career and not taken actions to improve his skills.
But then again it is the everyone-gets-a-trophy culture aka everyone-gets-the-same-raise culture.
I do get that people fool themselves. One guy on our team would tell everyone what a hard worker he was because he spent time on the weekends doing work. But this same guy spent the entirety of every workday visiting and gossiping with coworkers, causing an decrease in productivity. He never understood why he was passed from group to group by managers when he was such a hard worker.
