I don't understand how age is a part of the increase or promotion process. Can anyone explain?

How is this not illegal?
If yee is not there, how do you think your manager and the managers of your manager can get more $$$ over the time? Most of them do nothing practical and valuable to the company. They have no real delivery to be promoted. Yee is the only way
Kinda sh-t if you consider you might have had valuable experience prior to 18.
Or if you're an experience hire and they only give you 10years max credit for your prior work experience. If you have 19 years previous experience it's going to be a long additional 10 years to finally get that extra week of vacation. Not that you have time to use it but that's a different issue.
Believe the argument is that every year after your standard education (high school —> age 18) you’ve gained some valuable life/work experience that should be compensated for, all other things being equal.
YEE = Year End Experience. Age discrimination is illegal. YEE is not your age. It’s your age -18.
YEE is the sound you make when you find out you are getting pipped
What does YEE even stand for?
