Dealing with micromanagers

My impression is that the manager is probably trying to collect evidence for terminating me sometime in the future.
How else to explain his actions - I have not experienced such micromanagement in almost eight years of working here, nor have I experienced it in the companies where I have previously worked?
Anyone else who also dealt with unbearable micromanagement here?

Honestly I’m feeling the same way, like manager checkins are to feel out who doesn’t want to go in office every day even though it’s not required. Definitely feel like I’m going to be let go over some tiny thing. Looking around but not sure I’ll have the time for something fitting to post.

Micromanagement is the new Fidelity way... been heading this way for at least the last 5 years.

I was micromanaged towards the end of my 13 years at FIDO and was let go. It was deliberate, I went from exceeding expectations to being moved to a new team with little to no experience in and written up a few times before being let go, it was disgusting.

If the manager is micro managing multiple people don't worry about it, you are not being singled out. They either are new, insecure themselves or should not be a manager in the first place. A micro manager I had you could tell he was picked on in high school, finally got people under him and was taking is life's frustrations out on us. Top workers on a team like this will leave the team quickly.

MMs are usually insecure folks

micromanagement is usually a result of a new manager that doesn't really know what they're doing yet. A person that doesn't have faith in their employees yet as that all bubbles up to the top.
