I also had no idea there were layoffs happening until Wednesday afternoon when they let me go. It came completely out of left field & I think I’m still in shock. I need to read through the pkg again, but it does seem decent. I probably would have retired from there.

@1zmy I am so sorry for you being laid off. Good luck as you try to find something new.

I just wish more of our people would check this board, things are reported all the time, oftem much ahead of the official announcement.

Anyhow, good luck as you move on.

I had no idea there were layoffs happening until yesterday when they let me go. I feel like they’ve put together a decent package, but it still sucks. I’m just trying to not take it personally.

The worst communication ever!! After 11 years, the 2 bosses that I helped train let me go. The upper manager didn’t speak one word on the call. Not even a thank you. I would never reapply there! My boss was let go 2 days before me & no one even told our team

Agreed. You start hearing things, watch how people act, you pick up on it easy enough. Then the cryptic emails start coming out and you put 2 & 2 together.

Enough people know about cuts on this scale that it leaks out both intentionally and unintentionally. The behavior of your manager two levels up is an indication of what may be coming.

Across the bank, and I was one of them. She read from a script. Actually relieved it’s over!

Some big banks have leadership and skill sets at the top to drive growth and expansion into new areas and new profit tiers for their shareholders, but some big banks get caught up focusing solely on social issues and political topics of the day, buying banks in California and Illinois where people and businesses are leaving in droves, such that they have to eliminate very talented and irreplaceable people under buzzwords and catchy slogans "enabling our future". I'm not sure the shareholders are buying that, we'll just wait and see.
