Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

CSP - what to do with all of the cash EM is making

I heard that corporate planning have reviews on what EM can do with all of cash they are making with making any upward structural opex changes. They don’t want to give us a pay increase as that increases opex: that’s why they gave us a 3% one time bonus…why don’t they spread the money in the upside as we all (ex MC) felt the downside.

Real increases < inflation and don’t forget about giving up 401k match because “we’re all in this together”…

Bonuses for sponsored persons and stock buybacks at peak prices to the extent that zero cash available for the impending downturn.

If EM kept enough cash to survive the next downturn without borrowing, there would be no justification for the layoffs already planned.

Cash will b erased from EM’s books by stock buybacks until zeroed out so that EM will need to borrow during next downturn.

Significant raises only for Executives.

These are EM traditions.

If raises can’t be good in a year like this, I don’t know when we can expect them to be good. I thought we were making more money than God according to some.
